JULIA B. "JB" MURRAY
Colonel Julia B. (JB) Murray is the Vice Commander of the 81st Training Wing, Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi. The 81st Training Wing provides technical training for officers, airmen and civilians of the U.S. Air Force, Air National Guard and other agencies of the Department of Defense in numerous electronic, avionics, computer, personnel and information management career fields.
Colonel Murray enlisted in the Air Force in 1977 and was commissioned through Officer Training School in 1979. During her career, Colonel Murray has served in a variety of command positions, faculty positions at two professional military education schools, two Inspectors General tours, and major air command staff. Previous command positions include headquarters squadron section commander, air officer commanding for an Air Force Academy cadet squadron, mission support squadron commander, base commander during the final phase of base closure at Soesterberg Air Base, The Netherlands, Deputy Support Group Commander for the 42nd Air Base Wing, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama. Colonel Murray is a native of Laurel, Mississippi.
