Captain William C. McKerall

Civil Engineer Corps

United States Navy

Captain William C. McKerall is a native of New Braunfels, Texas.   He was commissioned in August 1980 upon graduation from Texas A&M University with a Master of Science in Civil Engineering.  

Captain McKerall has been assigned to:

•  Engineering Department Head, Cargo Handling and Port Group, Williamsburg, Virginia, deploying to Antarctica, Diego Garcia, and Subic Bay, Philippines

•  Shops Engineer, Diego Garcia

•  Resident Officer in Charge of Construction, Sigonella, Sicily

•  Officer in Charge, Detail Cuba, Headquarters and Charlie Company Commander, MLO and Assistant Operations Officer, Naval Mobile Construction Battalion FOUR

•  Public Works Officer, Naval Air Station, Chase Field, Beeville, TX

•  Seabee Plans and Programs Officer, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Washington, D.C.   (During this period, he also served with the Base Structure Analysis Team supporting the 1993 Base Closure Process for the Navy.)

•  CEC Lieutenant Commander Detailer, Bureau of Naval Personnel, Washington, D.C.

•  Public Works Officer/Officer in Charge of Construction, Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune

•  Commanding Officer, Naval Mobile Construction Battalion FORTY (deploying to both the European and South Pacific theaters)

•  Chief of Staff, SECOND Naval Construction Brigade

•  Commanding Officer, TWENTY-SECOND Naval Construction Regiment

On June 13, 2003, Captain McKerall assumed responsibilities as Commanding Officer, Naval Construction Battalion Center, Gulfport, and Commander, Twentieth Seabee Readiness Group.

Captain McKerall is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas, a graduate of the University of Michigan Business Executive Program, a member of the Acquisition Professional Community, and a Seabee Combat Warfare Officer.   His personal decorations include the Legion of Merit, four Meritorious Service Medals, five Navy Commendation Medals, two Navy Achievement Medals, and various unit and campaign awards.
