Col HansenColonel Suzanne R. Hansen is Deputy Commander, 81 st Medical Group, Keesler Air Force Base, Miss.   As deputy commander of the Air Force's second largest medical center, she is responsible for the direct delivery of health care to almost 50,000 beneficiaries in the Keesler area.   She ensures the availability of major war and peacetime medical readiness forces and ensures medical services for more than 60 specialties operate efficiently while delivering compassionate health care.   She leads more than 2,000 health care professionals and, with the commander, manages a local annual budget of approximately $93 million dollars.  

Colonel Hansen was directly commissioned into the Air Force and entered active duty in January 1980. She has held a variety of nursing positions, from critical care to health promotions and administration from the group level to the Department of Defense.   She holds master's degrees in cardiovascular critical care and nursing administration.

Before assuming her present position, the colonel was commander, 62nd Medical Group, McChord Air Force Base, Wash.   Prior to that she was commander, 96th Surgical Operations Squadron, Eglin Air Force Base, Fla.
